The basics
What is Clinicoid?
Clinicoid is a study app for Egyptian medical students, on iPhone, iPad and Android. It follows the syllabus of Kasr Al Ainy (Cairo University's Faculty of Medicine). It has past papers and exam questions with explanations that open the textbook page they came from, an AI tutor called Coid, flashcards, a study timer and your progress stats.
It is a study aid, not medical advice.
Who is it for?
Medical students. It follows the Kasr Al Ainy syllabus, but anyone can use it for free.
Kasr Al Ainy students also get free AI. Students elsewhere need Clinicoid Pro for the AI.
Is it free?
Yes, at every faculty. No trial and no card. Past papers, explanations and your stats are all free.
Clinicoid Pro is optional. It adds access to Coid Pro, Clinicoid's own exercises, and a much bigger AI allowance. Your faculty's papers are never paid.
What devices does it work on?
iPhone, iPad and Android. Your account syncs across all of them.
What language is it in?
English. Coid answers in the language you ask in, except when quoting your English textbook.
Does it work offline?
Partly. Papers you already opened keep working, and your answers sync when you are back online. Coid and written-answer marking need the internet.
Is there a website version?
No. Clinicoid is a phone and tablet app. This website only explains it.
What is inside it
Where do the questions come from?
Most are your faculty's real past papers and question banks. We do not change them.
The rest are Clinicoid's own exercises, written by us and clearly labelled. These need Clinicoid Pro.
What kinds of question are there?
Multiple choice, true or false, complete the sentence, matching, and written answers. Some questions include images.
Are the explanations written by AI?
They are drafted with AI help and based on the module's textbooks. The study guides on this site are written by people.
What is Coid?
Coid is the AI tutor. It answers from your module's books and shows the pages it used, so you can check.
Kasr Al Ainy students get a free daily allowance. Clinicoid Pro adds Coid Pro, a bigger monthly allowance and no daily limit.
Which modules are covered?
The modules page shows what is ready today. More are added during the year.
Paying for it
What does Clinicoid Pro add?
Access to Coid Pro, Clinicoid's own exercises, and a much bigger AI allowance with no daily limit.
Outside Kasr Al Ainy, Pro is also what turns the AI on.
Everything else stays free with or without Pro.
How do I pay?
Pro is a monthly subscription you buy in the app. The App Store (iPhone and iPad) or Google Play (Android) takes the payment. We never see your card.
How do I cancel?
In the App Store or Google Play subscription settings. Cancel at least 24 hours before it renews. You keep Pro until the end of the month you paid for.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own rules.
Your data
What do you collect?
Only what your study account needs. The Privacy Policy lists everything.
Do you sell my data? Are there ads?
No and no. No ads, no ad tracking, and we never sell your data.
What happens to the photo of my student card?
It is read once during setup to fill in your name, student number and year. The Privacy Policy explains what we keep.
What happens to what I ask Coid?
Your questions go through our server to the AI that answers them. They are not used to train AI. Other students cannot see them.
Can other students see my scores?
No. Others only see your public profile, and your place on the leaderboard if you are on it.
Can I delete my account?
Yes, from the app. It is deleted straight away.
Accuracy and safety
Can I use Clinicoid for real patients?
No. Clinicoid is for studying only. It is not medical advice. Never use it to decide anything about a real patient, including yourself.
Can Coid be wrong?
Yes. It is an AI and can make mistakes. Check important things in your book using the pages shown under each answer.
What if a question is wrong?
Report it from the question. A person checks it against the source and fixes it.
Is using this cheating?
No. It is past papers and your own study. The Terms only forbid copying or sharing the material outside the app.
Getting started
Do I have to pay?
No. The app is free at every faculty, with no trial and no card needed.
Clinicoid Pro is optional. It adds Coid Pro, Clinicoid's own exercises and a much bigger AI allowance. Kasr Al Ainy students get some AI for free; at other faculties, Pro is what turns the AI on.
Why do you need my student card?
It shows the account belongs to a real student, and it fills in your details for you. The Privacy Policy explains what we keep.
The card will not read.
Put it flat on a plain surface in good light, fill the frame, and turn off the flash. If it still fails, write to us.
My faculty is not on the list.
You can still use the app for free. It follows the Kasr Al Ainy syllabus, so check how close it is to yours.
Everything is included except the AI (Coid and written-answer marking). Clinicoid Pro turns those on.
Account & sign-in
The code never arrived.
Check your spam folder and the email you typed. Then ask for a new code.
Can I change my name?
You can change your display name, username and bio in Profile › Edit. Your full name comes from your student card and cannot be changed.
Can I use more than one device?
Yes. Settings › Signed-in devices shows where you are signed in, and you can sign any device out.
How do I delete my account?
In the app, go to Settings › Personal info › Delete account, or use the page below. If you have Clinicoid Pro, cancel it in the App Store or Google Play first.
Modules & subjects
Why one module at a time?
So your scores and mistakes make sense. A few things, like achievements, study time and the leaderboard, count across all modules.
My module is missing.
It may not be published yet, or your year may be wrong. If your year is wrong, write to us.
What happens when I move up a year?
Your new modules appear. Your old work stays, and your achievements and study time carry over.
Practice & exams
I think an answer is wrong.
Tap the report button on the question. Tell us what you think the answer is and where you read it.
A question has no answer.
Some papers came without an official answer key. We show the question as it was set rather than guess.
Can I redo a paper?
Yes, as many times as you like. Your old scores are kept.
Does it work offline?
Papers you already opened work offline and sync later. Marking written answers needs a connection.
Coid
Coid says it is not available for me.
Free AI is for Kasr Al Ainy accounts. If you study there, finish scanning your student card first.
Everyone else can turn Coid on with Clinicoid Pro.
My AI allowance ran out.
Coid stops until your allowance resets. The app shows how much you have left.
I asked in Arabic and it answered in English.
When an answer comes from your English textbook, Coid answers in English so the facts stay accurate.
It would not answer.
Coid will not answer about real patients, or about things outside your module's books.
Are my chats private?
Yes. Other students cannot see what you ask.
Plans & billing
I paid but Pro did not switch on.
Wait a minute, then tap Restore purchases in Settings › Subscription. If it still does not work, write to us with the date and the store receipt.
I got a new phone.
Sign in with the same account and store, then tap Restore purchases.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds are handled by Apple or Google. The Refund Policy shows how to ask.
What happens if I cancel?
You keep Pro until the end of the month you paid for. After that your account goes back to Free, and none of your work is deleted.
Troubleshooting
It is stuck on the loading screen.
Your connection may be on but not working. Tap Retry, or switch to another network.
I was signed out.
Check Settings › Signed-in devices. If you see a device that is not yours, sign it out.
A source page will not open.
When you tap a source under an explanation or a Coid answer, big books can be slow on weak internet. If the page stays blank, close it and tap the source again. If it is still blank, tell us the book and page.
Notifications are not arriving.
Allow notifications for Clinicoid in your phone settings and in Settings › Notifications. On some Android phones, also turn off battery saving for Clinicoid.
